Flemington, NJ – Right2Breathe®, a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization based in New Jersey, and California-based Deecell Power Systems have announced a strategic partnership aimed at raising awareness for improving commercial truck driver respiratory health.
This alliance strives to provide proactive solutions to reduce exposure to vehicle emissions during non-driving and parked periods, which can damage the lungs and heart and eventually lead to respiratory and cardiovascular disease.
Deecell Power Systems Solar Power Unit (SPU) has no engine, operates silently, and produces zero emissions. It is a solution that supplies power, improves fuel efficiency for trucking fleets, and more importantly, reduces exposure to emissions while drivers rest.
“At the core of this partnership is the belief that cleaner air directly impacts people’s health, comfort, and quality of life,” noted Melissa Murphy, the EVP of Sales and Marketing at DeecellPower Systems. “Deecell reduces emissions by eliminating unnecessary idling, and Right2Breathe ensures those benefits are understood beyond the technology itself. Together, we’re addressing both the cause and the consequence of air pollution.
“Deecell was built on the idea that progress shouldn’t come at the expense of the environment,” Murphy continued. “Partnering with Right2Breathe reflects our shared commitment to reducing emissions, protecting air quality, and creating healthier environments through both innovation and advocacy.”
Right2Breathe CEO Joe Morrison believes this partnership with Deecell Power Systems represents the next evolution of their non-profit’s mission to provide Education, Awareness, Free Screening, and Resources for people who are currently diagnosed with, or at higher risk of being diagnosed with, respiratory disease.
“Since 2014, we’ve done a fantastic job on the education, awareness, free screening, and resources front for the respiratory disease patient and caregiver community,” stated Joe Morrison, who competes as a professional drag racer in the ultra-competitive Nitro Funny Car categories of NHRA and IHRA. “Partnering with Deecell Power Systems represents the first time we’ve collaborated with a company that has a product which can significantly mitigate exposure to one of the leading causes of respiratory disease within a huge demographic – essentially preventing the disease before it starts.
“Our goal with Right2Breathe has always been to live in a world with fewer respiratory disease patients, and thus, less need for us and others in this space,” Morrison continued. “I believe this partnership with Deecell Power Systems is a tremendous first step, and we look forward to working with Melissa and their entire team.”
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, there are more than 3.5 million active truck drivers in the United States. While the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) limits driving to 11 hours within a 14-hour duty window, many drivers spend additional hours inside the cab during non-driving time—often while vehicles are parked and power systems remain running to support rest and recovery.
Truck drivers often rely on engine idling or auxiliary power systems, including diesel APUs (Auxiliary Power Units) to power in-cabin devices, including HVAC, lights, and power outlets. This exposes them to particulate matter (soot), nitrogen oxides (NOx), carbon monoxide (CO), and hydrocarbons (HC). These contaminants can lead to respiratory and cardiovascular disease.

About Right2Breathe®
It is the Mission of Right2Breathe® to provide Education, Awareness, Free Screening, and Resources to people who are currently diagnosed with, or at higher risk of developing, respiratory disease. We believe that “Everybody has a Right2Breathe™”.
Right2Breathe was founded in 2014 on the powerful idea that people can overcome difficult obstacles when they let their passions inspire them. The old adage, “When you do what you love, you don’t work a day in your life,” applies to much more than just one’s career choices.
We believe that the world is a better place when people use their gifts and talents to follow their dreams. Our mission is to inspire, educate, and empower people living with lung disease to rekindle their passion while providing the information they need to take action.
This will help them renew their commitment to their own wellness while inspiring other members of the respiratory patient community. In addition to the patient community, we provide education for caregivers who support them and the clinicians who treat people living with respiratory disease.
We achieve our mission through Lung Health initiatives, multiple outreach and educational programs. To learn more about Right2Breathe, please visit their website – https://right2breathe.org.
